A young Laurence Olivier stars as handsome Tony McVane, a British pilot flying the experimental Q Plane which the enemy would love to get its hands on. Planes and crew have been mysteriously disappearing over the ocean during test flights without a trace. Is it a series of accidents, or international espionage? Ralph Richardson portrays secret service agent Major Charles Hammond who suspects a foreign power. Also interested in the story is newspaper reporter Kay Lawrence, whom Tony McVane falls for, but doesn’t exactly trust. Although the enemy, presumably the Nazis, has been successful knocking down and capturing the Q Planes using a special ray, they have yet to get one equipped with the top secret super charger device. When McVane’s plane is also brought down and captured, it’s time for a daring and dangerous plan.
