A psychedelic ’60s shocker that takes a trippy excursion into the truly bizaarre, COLLEGE GIRL MURDERS is replete with sky-high hairdos and thigh-high hemlines, and was penned by Edgar Wallace, the originator of 1933’s KING KONG. When a mad scientist devises a fatal gas, he plans to sell it off for millions, but a trusted confidante betrays him to use the invention for his own purposes. Now, innocent college girls are suffering the consequences when they open up their Bibles, releasing the deadly fumes and killing them immediately. When dead bodies start turning up with broken necks, Inspector Higgins and Sir John are called in to investigate, and soon everyone is a suspect. Doubtable characters subsequently abound, from the skittish professor with a penchant for young girls to the headmistress’s reclusive brother. The crime-fighting duo tries to track down the killer before he strikes again, while a fantastic, groovy soundtrack sets the scene.
