Zulu
Thinking the Zulu Nation was a military pushover was one of the greatest mistakes the British Army ever made. The powerful Zulu warriors were an impressive adversary for the technically advanced English, using only spears and raw courage as their weapons against the invading British forces. This accurately told story, presented in all its uncut beauty and splendor has incredible battle scenes that pay tribute to both warring factions. Michael Caine stars in one of his first great screen appearances, displaying a talent that would follow him throughout his career. Zulu, critically acclaimed as one of the best war movies ever made is a real winner and will make a terrific addition to anyone’s film collection.
Flame Over India
Things are heating up in India and its up to a prim and proper nanny, played by Hollywood megatalent Lauren Bacall (Shootist, Key Largo, How To Marry A Millionaire) to protect a child prince who’s destined to become the next ruler of the country. When the two escape on a troop train along with a small group of ragtag British soldiers, they become a moving target for the militant rebels who will stop at nothing to kill them! Facing overwhelming numbers, the feisty survivors plow through the enemy masses with surprising ferocity thanks in part to the effectiveness of their powerful English locomotive. Flame Over India produced by the famed Rank Studios and directed by noted filmmaker J. Lee Thompson (Guns Of Navarone, Cape Fear, Taras Bulba) burns up the screen with intensity and style!
